Recipe for Bloomin' Beer-Pepper-Battered Funnel-Onion
Inspired by last night's college cooking experience:
Ingredients:If it weren't for things like this, college life might get boring.
36 oz. Dark Beer
Approximately one bottle (any size) Vegetable Oil
As much barbeque sauce as you can find in the fridge.
Cornstarch, not otherwise specified
Flour, see above instructions for barbeque sauce
Paprika, one jar
Instructions(Destructions):
- Imbibe one 12 oz. bottle of beer, give the other to your roommate. This assists in measuring.
- Heat oil until the batter fries when immersed. Continue heating oil.
- Slice onion and attempt to batter. Realize that you haven't made any batter yet and set onion aside.
- Mix remaining ingredients to make onion batter.
- Dip onion in batter, fry for a minute or so, flip and continue frying.
- Remove onion from fryer, eat fried batter and set onion aside, again.
- Continue heating oil.
- Add some barbecue sauce to a small amount of batter.
- Dip a slice of onion in the batter/barbecue sauce mixture. Fry it and call it Onion 1.0-beta.
- Add more barbecue sauce.
- Fry onion and light oil on fire.
- Clear the smoke from kitchen.
- Stop heating oil.
- Add the sugar and eggs that aren't on the list of ingredients.
- Fry slice of onion in modified batter mixture.
- Set onion aside permanently and attempt to make a funnel cake with remaining batter.
- Sample funnel cake.
- Dispose of all remaining ingredients and products and call Chili's.
