As you sit and cry, who should run by?  The white rabbit with the timepiece scurries past you into the forest.  Once again...

  You follow the rabbit's trail.

 
Principle 2 states that the participant's interactions should be channeled along a determined path.  The white rabbit accomplishes this principle by constantly appearing throughout the story to keep you (Alice) on the path. 

This also accomplishes principle 7, which states the the story should be orchestrated and monitored by the storyteller.
