If we believed everything that we read in the news it would be common to see Bigfoot, a Neanderthal, and Jesus Christ walking down the street (in Beverly Hills no less) while Dracula steps into a steak shop for a bite to eat/ Let us not forget the aliens, or that the energy crisis had been solved by switching over to Atlantian crystal technology. We can thank the publics lack of reliable information for the variety of stories we see today.
This is why it is important to take a scientific approach to each new discovery. This site provides an example of an archeological find that had no proof or documentation for its claims. The crystal skulls are purported to of been found all across the Americas, each with a claim of dating back to an ancient culture. Unfortunately there is a growing group of people that believe they were left for us to find by extraterrestrials or they are remnants of Atlantis. When the scientific process of verifying, testing, and re-evaluating our research is ignored, so fantastic claims can be made by untrained individuals.
