Our goal: To develop and implement a district-wide dynamic energy awareness program for K-12 classrooms.

Education goal completed during the fiscal year 1999-2000

• Started Earth Patrols at five elementary schools.
• Received new Earth Patrol vests from Florida Power Corporation and Ogden Martin.
• Incentive program returned $100,000 to schools in incentive awards.
• Purchased 48 energy kits & training materials from Florida State University.
• Assembled & reviewed material for middle school program.

Education goal to be considered during the fiscal year 2000-01

• Complete middle school energy program.
• Seek funding for in-service to present middle school program to teachers.
• Web site for Energy Management designed by middle/high school students.
• Prize money will be sought from local utility providers.
• Continue incentive program that returns savings directly back to the schools.
• Support the development of an Earth Patrol at all Elementary Schools not currently participating in the program.
