Goal: To assist schools and departments with the implementation of the District's Energy Program, and to work toward energy cost reduction measures.
Assisting, Monitoring and Reporting Actions Taken During Fiscal Year 1999-2000:
- Established the 1998-99 school year as baseline for comparison for future incentive awards.
- Reviewed water, sewer and irrigation invoices and enter them into MATRIX utility manager.
- Identified projects with acceptable paybacks and approved funding from Water Retrofit fund.
- Assisted Maintenance in identifying duplicate and defective meters.
- Included summary of water and sewer data on quarterly Energy reports sent to schools.
Assisting, Monitoring and Reporting Actions to be Taken During Fiscal Year 2000-01:
- Supply each cost center with a detailed water, sewer and irrigation report showing KW, KWH and cost for each quarter.
- Track weather and its impact on energy usage.
- Track changes in school use and square footage changes and correlate to energy usage.
- Prepare and submit annual energy report to the School Board.
- Maintain cost and usage data on over 250 electric meters as well as all water, sewer and irrigation accounts in the District.
- Monitor Energy Management Systems at school sites to ensure systems are performing as designed and at optimum efficiency.
- Report strategies and successes to other school boards and public organizations.
- Monitor Centennial chiller project to track economic feasibility for future projects.
