As you're not quite sure how to relate to a lory bird, you decide that talking about any animal will do.  You tell the bird about your delightful little cat at home.  Unfortunately, you also mention how your delightful little cat likes to catch and eat birds.  This, of course, offends the lory bird.  He flaps off in a huff and leaves you alone while you begin to cry yet again.
